Late Night Insight Vol. 3: Drunky Funky Collection

To be completely honest, I drank enough tonight to earn an honorary spot in the German Beer Olympics, but that is not to say that I am too inebriated to post a blog with any substance. I trust in my readers to bitch slap me with an e-mail if I get off track and ramble about pointless crapola like how super awesome my life is, Kim Kardashian style. As I will admit quite often, writing and inspiration come to me most when I have crossed over to the other side. Whoa, that is like, so totally enlightening! No, this is not an acid trip, although that would be cool. I am just loving 2011 Radiohead and all of their overdone shit way too much, when I know in my sober life that nothing compares to “Ok Computer,” and craving cigarettes enough to crawl out from the comfort of my warm blankets to sit outside and smoke a couple. So this is normal for me. Am I too early in my career as a jaded writer to say that the night makes me feel alive? That I am most creative when the moon is shining into my bedroom window and gives me the energy to keep thinking? Scary. Virginia Woolf in The Hours scary- creepy, yeah, that is more like it. I guess you could compare it to vegetarians and non-alcoholics pining in the satisfaction of a water and brown rice dinner, as I cut through my still pulsating Filet Mignon, clearing my palate with a crisp Sam Adams draught. We all have parts of our personalities that need to be respected. We expect this respect from other people, but it must come from ourselves first. Drink your beer, turn down the cheeseburger, smoke a pack a day, so be it. Really, it is whatever gets the creative juices flowing, or on a simpler level, whatever makes you fucking happy with yourself. So what I am saying is, don’t judge! Late Night Insight Vol. 2: Body Art & Inspiration

For centuries, body art has been a form of expression and culture. Maybe you have a tattoo, know someone with a tattoo, or plan on getting a tattoo but the fact of the matter is they are not going anywhere, anytime soon. What a shame for the old and conservative folk, huh?

I look at my tattoos often and I have a story for each. I love them all, even after some personal debate. So after analyzing my tattoo design for early November, I decided to blog about body art. Here are a few photos I stumbled across that I thought were beautiful. Really.

Repeat warning: This is not a fad. Tattoos are here to stay, and I for one am thankful for that.

Here’s my tattoo! I have quite a few, but this one is my favorite.

Midnight has come and gone and I am a bottle of Merlot deep. Things get either much better or much worse late at night when you have had a drink. Most of the time everything just becomes clearer. Situations you have thought about all day are easier to understand and easier to open up to when you are alone with some wine. You can finally put aside the stress of the day and focus on listening to that side of your brain that blocked out what you did not want to hear all day. Whenever I am feeling a wee bit bummed or just anxious to stay busy through art and the beauty of written word (when I do not pick up a book), I will cruise the internet for some wisdom and advice from people my age, in similar situations.
