3. There’s still time to get that beach body
I think. But I’m going to stay optimistic here and go with a big ol’ “yes!” If you start today, right after you finish my blog post, you can start two full months of a healthier lifestyle including exercise. Honestly, I still eat the same, just less. If you are weary on the idea, take it from an Italian girl with an Italian appetite. I just joined the local gym and have gotten my lazy ass out of a rut I legitimately never thought I pick myself out from. My first day back into the workout atmosphere with friend, I was pushed to do 30 minutes of cardio on an elliptical- even as I was hyperventilating, begging to stop, I thought of the closeness of beach weather.
There is such a sense of accomplishment when you are done. Just do it with me. Blog about it, keep track of your frustrations and your goals. At least try one full week of at least 20 minutes cardio. Try grabbing those love handles after 7 days. That alone will be your motivation. Trust!
2. Prepare for Summer Festival Season
Right now is the best time to get your tickets on all things live music. Take it from me, if you wait any longer to purchase tickets to the music concerts you have been dying to see, you will miss out. For starters, big name festivals such as Bonnaroo, Firefly and Lollapalooza have lineups packed with legends, hit rock bands, soulful sistas, jammin’ funk bands and so much more. If you are considering your first time at a larger music festival, be sure to take an extensive look at their lineups. Sometimes the smaller bands are the most anticipated.

A really helpful iPhone app or website to use if you’re into rock like myself that’ll tell you tour dates in your area is Jambase.com. Otherwise, the Spotify music app (which is free) on your computer is a FANTASTIC way to learn new music (any artist, song or album). It also has a variety of free apps you can bring right into your Spotify that’ll tell you every concert in your area. I live by Spotify (and pay for the premium account). Be sure to check it out!
Music is the ultimate soul soother. With nicer weather headed our way, there’s no reason not to build a sweet playlist and feel better about everything with the help of some rockin’ tunes.

Roger Ebert, movie critic for over 46 years and one half of Siskel & Ebert’s “two thumbs up,” has passed yesterday after a long battle with thyroid cancer. His legacy will continue to be acknowledged in the movie world, college classrooms, and the hearts and minds of those who read his acclaimed movie reviews over the years.
According to TMZ.com, in the most recent and last post on Ebert’s blog, the reviewer legend stated,
“It really stinks that the cancer has returned and that I have spent too many days in the hospital. So on bad days I may write about the vulnerability that accompanies illness. On good days, I may wax ecstatic about a movie so good it transports me beyond illness. So on this day of reflection I say again, thank you for going on this journey with me. I’ll see you at the movies.”
